Asst. Security officers (ASO) are placed in the officer's cadre of the company. A Confirmed ASO can be posted initially as a 2/IC in a large unit or Commander of a medium size deployment or as a staff officer in Regional / Branch offices / Divisonal Headquarter.

A Security Inspector is primarily involved with supervisory work. On confirmation he is promoted to the grade of Senior Security Inspector. A confirmed SSI can be posted as Senior Unit Commander of a small / medium unit or shift incharge of a large unit.
